For more than a century, the ecumenical movement in the United States has been a major voice of Christian conscience to the nation and world. Here is a collection of some of the most important statements made by the National Council of Churches. These include policy statements, which are foundational positions of the NCC that ground any and all work on the given topic; resolutions, which are board-driven responses to major issues facing society at a given time; and public/press statements, which are primarily staff-driven statements that respond in a timely fashion to critical issues.
