And waking up, he rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Be silent! Be still!” Then the wind ceased, and there was a dead calm.

How we long to hear the Savior utter these “Peace, be still,” and bring an end to the warfare, destruction, and chaos plaguing so many parts of our world as He did in calming the raging storm. May we all, in this season, be still and reflect on ways that we may be instruments of Your peace—in our homes, in our communities, and in all the places shadowed by our sphere of influence. We know that peace is possible, and let it begin within our own hearts, that it may spread—infectiously—from heart to heart and breast to breast. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
